Mission

Picture of Britney

Britney Trahan was born on December 17, 1997 and lost her life on November 22, 2014 in a tragic automobile accident. She was 16 years old.

Britney loved life, music and fellowship. She believed that her fellow band members at Sam Houston High School should have a chance to participate, regardless of financial status, in all school events, trips and activities.

Britney said one day “Daddy, do you know that about ¼ of the band didn’t make that last trip. I suppose some parents just couldn’t afford to let them go. I wish there was something that could be done so the entire band could experience these trips.” She always volunteered her time, tutored students, copied music and made people smile. She was a fluent clarinet player and could also play baritone and keyboard. She poured her heart into her passion and touched people’s lives.

Britney had found a place to build her foundation in her young life and now we wish to keep that foundation alive. It is wise to build a house on a foundation of stone and that is what we believe is her legacy. That is why though through tragedy she has left us the mission of this foundation is to ensure that she is never forgotten.

We miss her and love her every day.

Britney’s heart was drawn to those in need. She recognized many needs for her beloved Sam Houston High School Pride and Spirit Band.
